Fast Fourier Transformation Based Evaluation of Microlensing Magnification with Extended Source

چکیده
Abstract The extended source effect on microlensing magnification is nonnegligible and must be taken into account for an analysis of microlensing. However, the evaluation numerically expensive because it includes two-dimensional integral over profile. Various studies have developed methods to reduce this down one-dimensional-integral- or integral-free form, which adopt some approximations depend exact form profile, e.g., a disk linear/quadratic limb-darkening In paper, we develop new method evaluate based fast Fourier transformation (FFT), does not any applicable profiles. Our implementation FFT enables as ∼1 ms (CPU time laptop) guarantees accuracy better than 0.3%. can used template fitting huge data set light curves from existing upcoming surveys.

Extended Source Effects in Astrometric Gravitational Microlensing
Extended source size effects have been detected in photometric monitoring of gravitational microlensing events. We study similar effects in the centroid motion of an extended source lensed by a point mass. We show that the centroid motion of a source with uniform surface brightness can be obtained analytically. For a source with circularly symmetric limb-darkening profile, the centroid motion c...
متن کاملGeneration of Microlensing Magnification Patterns with High Performance Computing Techniques
High Performance computers have became an essential part of modern research, but the software tools used to harness their power have not reached the level of simplicity expected by the average researcher. Researchers are familiar with the logic of sequential coding and the time needed to learn new tools is seen as a distraction from their field of research. Furthermore, most of the issues relat...
متن کاملMagnification Bias in Galactic Microlensing Searches
It is shown that a significant amount of detectable gravitational microlensing events that could potentially be found by MAssively Parallel Photometry (MAPP) projects (such as the MACHO, EROS and OGLE collaborations) will occur for stars too dim to be easily noticed individually by these projects. This is the result of a large magnification bias effect, a bias of including high magnification ev...
متن کاملMemoing Evaluation by Source-to-Source Transformation
This paper presents a novel implementation of memoing evaluation SSW94] by source-to-source transformation. The transformation proceeds in two steps: The rst step consists of magic sets rewriting BR91], a standard transformation in deductive databases, application to Prolog has not been considered yet. The second transformation rewrites bottom-up rules to Prolog clauses. This bottom-up to top-d...
